Ogunquit celebrates its 30th anniversary on July 1, 2010, and we plan to celebrate in style. Several community organizations will come together to make this a memorable and fun event for all of our residents and visitors. Come to Ogunquit and help us celebrate our birthday!

Event Schedule for Ogunquit Days:

Thursday, July 1:

1.       Historical Tour of Ogunquit: 9:30am beginning at Katie’s on Shore Road, 261 Shore Road. $5 per person. Proceeds go to the Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund. Weather permitting. Park at the Barn Gallery, corner of Shore Road and Bourne Lane.

2.       Great Works Regional Land Trust Open Farm Day. Visitors will have the opportunity to take a self-guided tour of the 65 garden plots under cultivation and meet some of the individuals growing their vegetables and flowers on the property this year.  Barn #2 (the Roby Littlefield “Museum”) which houses memorabilia from Roby’s life will be open for viewing. Light refreshments and musical entertainment will be provided.  10am to 4pm. Suggested donation $5.  Beach Plum Farm, US Route 1, 1 mile north of the village center. (rain date: July 5) gwrlt.org.

3.       Special Exhibition, Perkins Cove, Ogunquit and Maine at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art, 543 Shore Road. This exhibition features works from the cove and Ogunquit, but also shows the influence of artist’s efforts throughout Maine. Hours: Monday through Saturday, 10-5. ogunquitmuseum.org.

4.       Ogunquit Heritage Museum Ogunquit Beach Exhibit features the history of the Ogunquit Beach and the 1921 building of Dunelawn, as well as continuing exhibits on Perkins Cove fishing. Open 1-5pm, 86 Obed’s Lane.

5.       Ogunquit 30th Birthday Party with eyewitness accounts by some of the townsfolk who made the separation happen! 4pm at Ogunquit Memorial Library, 166 Shore Road. (Rain location: Dunaway Center, School Street) Join us for some free birthday cake! Sponsored by Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce, Ogunquit Memorial Library and Bread & Roses Bakery.

6.       Frannie Peabody Center 80's Night at MaineStreet, 195 Main Street. Cocktails start at 8pm. 80’s music, videos, and dancing begin at 9pm. A portion of the proceeds from all drinks will be donated to the Frannie Peabody Center. peabodycenter.org.

Friday, July 2:

Saturday, July 3:

1.       Ogunquit Greening Committee’s "Green Day" at the Main Beach, 10 am - 2 pm:  Win prizes in the 50c Can Toss.  Get a reusable Ogunquit Tote Bag.  Have fun and learn how you can help protect Ogunquit's natural resources. All proceeds to the Ogunquit Greening Committee's future initiatives. Bags will also be available for sale in Perkins Cove, 3-6pm. Rain date: July 4. ogunquitconservation.org.
